Riot Games revealed skins plans in a Dev video and shared what they will do in 2020 concerning skins and champions that they will get them. in the video Jonathan “Bellissimoh” Belliss, the product lead of personalization on the League development team at Riot, shared a roadmap for new skins for the unpopular but dedicated player base champions as they head for League of Legends season 2020.
Why didn't they make a skin for my champion in years ?
in the video, Bellissimoh talked about how Riot prioritizes making skins for popular champions for two reasons:
- To appeal to a broader audience: if Riot makes a skin for Yasuo more people will enjoy it then making skin for Skarner for example.
- To make more money: it standard that most players would purshase a skin for champions they play a.k.a popular champs, and they wouldn’t buy as much if they don’t play that champion.
What changes in 2020 ?
“It sucks having to wait years for a skin to my favorite champion” he added.
So this year Riot is taking on the responsibility to make as many skins as possible for the unpopular champs, 120 skin are already in the work for 2020, reducing effectively the wait from few years to a few months.
Who are the champions that will get a skin in 2020 ?
